Online Clothes Shopping

This afternoon I’ve been partaking in some online clothes shopping.

Even online, I hate shopping. At least I don’t have to deal with the people online.

I’ve got some shirts and hoodies from ThinkGeek. I’ve also got a hoodie and a shirt from Missing Bite.

Pity Jinx is down at the moment. I have a few tops that I want to get from their as well.

Now just need to get some jeans while I’m in town someday.

One Month To Go

One month from today I am off overseas again.

Yep, I’m heading back to the UK. This time instead of nine months it’s only going to be four weeks.

Lots and lots of stuff that I need to get done before hand.

Actually I’ve just been putting a ‘to-do’ list together. I’m going to be really busy for the next month.

Oh and for those of you wondering, getting some new spreadsheets and blog posts out are on the list.

Time To Stretch My Wings

It’s been 21 months since I was last overseas.

The time has come and I am going to be heading back overseas in a couple of months time.

At this stage it looks as if I will off to England and Scotland in September.

The passport has been renewed. Flights have been investigated. Contact made with friends at the other end.

Interesting time are to come.

My Favourite Podcasts

It’s been a couple of years since I have listed what podcasts I’m listening to these days.

In recent times I have been trimming down which podcasts get my ‘free’ time during the week (and sometimes weekend).

Recently my podcasts que reached over 24 hours. That’s quite large for me. I used to hate it getting greater than six hours. It seems as if I have constantly been about 2 to 4 weeks behind the game.

Luckily recently a couple of shows have either reduced their show loads or gone off the ‘air’.

Anyway, my recommended shows are as follows:
1. Geek News Central
2. MacBreak Weekly
3. Security Now
4. TWIT
5. G’Day World
6. The 2Web Crew
7. The AFL Show
8. The Biography Show
9. Typical Mac User
10. Windows Weekly

And So It Has Come And Gone

All that was discussed in the keynote (mentioned below) was iPhone iPhone iPhone.

Yea it’s cool. I’ll probably end up eventually getting one (don’t know how I can justify it) but no new MacBook Pro’s.

Oh well, just ordered a 15″ MacBook Pro, new bag for the MBP, Office 2008 and an extra power cable.

Oh and Holland is beating Italy 2-0 in the current Euro 2008 game. Go Holland.

Yet Another Apple Keynote

Early hours tomorrow morning it is the WWDC keynote. I seem to do this every keynote but I can’t wait and have my plastic in hand just waiting to buy something.

The something this time is a MacBook Pro. It will be the top of the line 15 inch model.

I’m not desperate for Apple to bump the specs but a ‘killer’ feature would be introduction of a BluRay optical drive.

iPhone stuff I don’t really care about. I’m not a phone guy.

The only other thing that I can conceive grabbing my attention is the introduction of what the next version of OS X will be like. Maybe even a Beta (very wishful thinking).

Dam I’m such a fanboi.

Red Bull Will Kill … Apparently

I came across this interesting article published by the Telegraph out of the UK.

It poses a very good question – How much does Red Bull actually harm you?

Personally myself I do enjoy Red Bull and most days a week (work days) have at least one can.

There is no doubt that it does increase the heart rate and gives you an extreme caffeine kick but I really do find it hard to believe that it actually harms you and any long lasting way (unless you have an existing heart issue).

We need some more research into this topic as all I could find with a fairly quick Google and Wikipedia search was a whole load of contradictive stories.

MacBook Air – 2 Months Later

It has now been about two months since my MacBook Air has been in my possession and I have to say that it does what it says it will do but it just has not filled the gap that my old MacBook was.

My main gripe is the lack of ethernet and usb port(s). Yes the notebook does have one USB port but if I am utilising my Vodafone 3G USB dongle then what else do I have room for.

At work I have to use the USB to ethernet adapter to even get the laptop onto the corporate network so once again this chews up the options that I have in regards utilising other peripherals.

I hate using trackpads. As I type I am using the MacBook with Vodafone 3G which means that I have to use the trackpad. I could get bluetooth mouse but I am yet to find one that is appealing to me like the VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse from Logitech.

If I had my time over I would have got a beefed up MacBook Pro that would most likely eventually take over as the main computer that i use.

On the Hunt for A New Phone

Currently I have the original version of the Motorola RAZR that is third hand and has been beaten up by everybody who has used it. It really is on its last legs.

So the time has come to look at getting a new phone. From my research I have pretty much narrowed it down to the Sony Ericsson K550i.

I’m not 100% set on the phone but it well and truly does everything that I need it to do and a few things that are nice.

I’m not a Sony fan but from previous experience with other people of have the CyberShot phones they seem to perform well and are sturdy.

I’m not considering the iPhone as a) it’s not out in Australia (yet) and b) I really can’t be stuffed getting one off of eBay or importing one, oh and c) if I was going to get an iPhone it must be 3G.
